William May (Ashton) Limited is currently providing various retail and industrial premises with solutions to heating and ventilation problems. With our expertise in all aspects of warm and cool air strategies we can provide a fast efficient service to all our customers, by way of heaters, air conditioning units and the efficient disposal of excess gases through tailor made flues.

Company History
William May’s first factory was an old Smithy (metal works) in Park Street, Ashton under-Lyne and it was a combination of the address and the product that led to the name ‘Parmet’ a well known standard in heating products.

A decline in the cloths drier market turned the thoughts of the young entrepreneurial company towards air heaters, the first of which was sold in 1963. The business prospered and the sheet metal skills of the company were used to provide casings for the new heaters.

From the production of their own make of heaters William May were appointed sole distributor of an Italian product, The Accorroni range of heaters and air conditioning products which over the years have proven durable and reliable. The company has also developed skills in servicing and maintenance under the regulation covering these appliances.

William May is registered with ACOPS etc.

The Future
In this age of environmentally friendly solutions and requirements William May is involved with CHP units, a power friendly unit that not only produces power for heating etc. but also direct surplus energy to the national grid. We are confident that this technology will be at the front of heating and air conditioning in the near future and intend to develop the expertise in this field with products provided for our Italian suppliers.
